Two days back, I took a small piece of paper and quickly inked out four important tasks I wanted to get done this weekend. I stuck it on my desk using melted candle wax (the old school way) and just started the first essay straightaway, sounds simple right? Except for the fact that it’s not because the weekend is ending today and I’m still stuck with the first one..
Not that I didn’t get anything done in these two days, several little goals were accomplished but the main ones are still waiting to be crossed off. And here’s why I think this happened, unrealistic goals lead to disappointments, especially when our dear old friend ‘procrastination’ comes along. At this point, I do not consider myself worthy to give any bits of advice to you all but I believe that it’s better to break larger goals into smaller to-do’s. I am not one of those spirits who believe in, “Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?” however the second my brain looks at such a big monster, it loses hope as deep down I know that it can’t be completed. Trick yourself into finishing it step by step and hopefully, you’ll get it done.
